February News

February News

It's the middle of February already! The past few weeks seem to have passed very quickly for us. We moved warehouse in January from Wiltshire to Hertfordshire and it's taken us most of the last five weeks to organise our stock, order new racking and build our office. It's all starting to come together and we're feeling very lucky to have this new space. We've been shipping orders and responding to enquiries again since the start of February and would like to thank everyone for their support whilst we were closed.

This part of the year always feels exciting for us as we gear up towards our busy season, especially this year in a new warehouse. It really feels like Spring is on the way now.

The walk to work

We're enjoying the walk to and from work although last week was particularly icy and cold but we had some beautiful blue skies. It's a 20 minute walk for us (30 minutes with Wilfred as loves sniffing everything) through the village and out along the lane and we're finding it is the perfect start to the day - much preferable to our trafficky commute from before.

We didn't get much snow here, much to Wilf's dismay as it's his favourite weather but he enjoyed the little bit that we had.

We've unfortunately had news that our first two containers have been delayed which we're frustrated about but trying to stay positive. As I'm sure lots of you will have seen in the news (BBC news article: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-55740063), there is a global shipping crisis at the moment and not only are lots of shipments being delayed (or cancelled completely), the cost of shipping has increased around 6 times! We were originally hoping that these containers would have been with us in January but they were first delayed to February and now March. The good news is that they are definitely on the way to us so we just have to keep our fingers crossed now that they arrive in mid-March. If you're waiting on new stock (I know there are quite a lot of you), as long as you signed up to the Out Of Stock waiting lists we will email you as soon as we have stock available.

First lunch at work... minus chairs that had not been unpacked yet!

We're looking forward to sharing more news from Gazebo Spare Parts over the next few months. Our landlord has kindly agreed to plant a hedge and some wildflowers for us outside so hopefully we can encourage some birds to visit us at the warehouse. We have much better heating in this warehouse which made a huge difference last week when it was -2 degrees. The roller door is due to be painted and we're organising a new sign for the front of the warehouse. We're looking forward to getting somewhere to sit on a tea break with Wilf and some plants out the front - we spend a lot of time at work so it's important for us to make it a nice place to be.

We'll be back soon with more news! As usual, please get in touch if you have any questions. Spring is in sight now and we can't wait!
